WYEE Public School's boys' soccer team recently took out the Westlakes Zone gala day at Rathmines.

In 2006 the Wyee boys' team was runner-up while the girls' team went one step further and won.

This year the boys didn't want to let the girls have all the fun.

After suffering an early defeat against Cooranbong the boys pulled together and made it to the final, which was held at Bernie Goodwin Oval, Morisset.

In the final, Coal Point PS and Wyee PS finished 0-0. The game then went to penalties, where Wyee took the honours.

Wyee's final triumph came through defeating the winners of the Toronto district gala day Rathmines.

Blake Clitheroe, Sean Robb and Daniel Hendrie were rewarded for their outstanding performances with selection in the zone team, which will compete in the regional final later this year.

Wyee has experienced lots of success in sport during the past three years. Its players have won netball gala days, made semifinals in rugby league competitions and won both boys' and girls' soccer gala days.
